Acht

Yosuke Kamihigashi, a.k.a, acht.
Born in Tokyo Japan, 8th August 1983.

His interests towards Art was awakened and stimulated by being close to his grandmother who was an Ikebana instructor.

He started to study in art school to explore the ‘essense of expression’ and there he encounters ‘Minimal Art’.

Touhaku Hasegawa, Frank Stella, Mark Rothko and Christian Boltanski, are some of the artists that influenced him greatly.

He also respects a techno music DJ, Richie Hawtin. By listening to the tunes that played in the club, he was given a hint of ‘self expression’ within his music. 


In 2004, he started his carrier as a DJ as well as being a painter.

After his graduation in 2007, he started to compose.

Today, he puts all his energy to shape his view, principle and thoughts as art works and sounds.
